As our inaugural year, we offered and awarded the Lift As You Climb academic scholarship. It was awarded to a high performing student who displayed the values of perseverance, community support, and achievement. The target area for the applicant was Pittsburgh Public Schools. Tyler Royster exemplified these values. He is highly committed to academic achievement and strives to be a lifelong learner.
Tyler Royster graduated from Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School and was accepted to more than 10 universities! He decided to attend Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Once at Vanderbilt, Tyler majored in Biomedical Engineering but quickly decided that he wanted to pursue a science-related degree. Upon graduation, Tyler plans to go to Medical School to become an anesthesiologist.
