This year we continued the Lift As You Climb academic scholarship. It was awarded to a high performing student who displayed the values of perseverance, community support, and achievement. The target area for the applicant was Pittsburgh Public Schools. Maroah Mohiuddin exemplified these values. She demonstrated a commitment to enriching students’ lives in the future. This level of commitment astounded the scholarship board.
Maroah Mohiuddin graduated from Westinghouse Academy in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She had been enrolled in dual credit since her junior year and took classes at the University of Pittsburgh. She volunteered at the elementary school in her neighborhood. She hopes to become an English Teacher. Her goal is to create lasting change for students from within the classroom. Maroah has a 3.9 GPA, is ranked #3 in her class and plans to attend Penn State University.
