This year we curated the “Loyalty Means Everything” Scholarship. It aimed to give academic support to a well-deserving student in the Houston area. The scholarship application sought to reward students who displayed resiliency, creativity, and community support. Rhyann Brown displayed these attributes and more. She has a very mature moral compass, owing her success to her faith and obeying the Golden Rule.
Rhyann is a student at Energy Institute High School in Houston, Texas. In her application, Rhyann spoke about facing adversity at her engineering school. This fueled her to found a minority Performance Arts Club. She hopes to build a technology bar. It will give her community members with the opportunity to learn and use the latest tech. Rhyann has a 3.2 GPA. She is involved in many extracurricular activities. These include the Performance Arts club and the National Society of Black Engineers. She also has several certifications with OSHA. She plans to attend Benedict College in the Fall!
